CANADA GOOSE CURATED
By Bobby Riley | October 23rd, 2009

Soldier has been working with Canada Goose and The Tannery’s new store concept on Boylston called Curated™. Curated is a store concept & design that Soldier developed for The Tannery and highly desirable brands they partner with. Canada Goose is one of several brands that will be given a pioneering space in the new Curated™ space slated to open next month on 711 Boylston Street in Boston, MA.

The area will be defined by understated raw steel fixturing, quality reclaimed timber forms and signage with stainless branded details and beautifully casted insignia logo medallions. The most impressive aspect of branded space is the 6’5″ X 2′ custom video screen in blackened steel encasement. The humanized form factor will serve as a pseudo digital runway for an interactive video loop that will feature a talented mix of appropriate talent, insane product and animated motion graphics that hover will hover over key features and benefits of each product as the model appears and disappears into a rendered depth of field i.e. the abyss. Above is a rendered shot of the space with screen and signage in place whereas the below image is a recent photo of the space in build progress. Hopefully you can begin to imagine the rendered experience we are trying to create here.

We had a great shoot for the interactive video/graphic aspect of the this project this week with some solid talent and equipment utilizing a HD stop-motion approach to filming. Shooters used a combination of Canon 50MM 1.2, Nikon D300 S, Canon 85MM 1.2, Canon 135MM 2.0, Lights and Backdrop to captured the runway-style cadence of the models. Content then imports in FinalCutPro and AfterEffects for post production for editing, info-graphic integration, branding and language. The two vertically stacked HD TVs in the retail space will run from from a solid state device and SD card that will automatically sync/play content in a loop within the Canada Goose environment. The experience was designed to enlighten, entertaining and create a clear path to the CG product fit, function and feel.
Below are some candid production pics from the shoot this week and we’ll be uptating the blog in the next week or so with the final product.
